After graduating from the University of Puget Sound with a B.A. in Studio Art, I moved away from rainy Seattle and back home to beautiful Santa Barbara where I worked for an architecture firm as a graphic designer. After about a year, I got the urge to move north and immerse myself in the thriving design community of the San Francisco Bay Area. I began working for AllPosters.com / Art.com in early 2004 while living in and enjoying the decadent and famous food of Berkeley with my new wife Stacy. At the end of 2005 I was promoted to Lead Graphic Designer, responsible for managing the design and production of a constantly increasing volume of ongoing promotional email campaigns, landing pages, banners, mailers and buck-slips across three brands and several international markets. Meanwhile I pursued freelance design opportunities, focusing on clients in the thriving interior design industry.
At the beginning of 2006, my wife and I decided to move south to San Diego to be closer to family and escape the fog of the bay. After a month of camping in Baja to decompress, we settled in Encinitas and the opportunity to begin freelancing fulltime became too enticing to pass up. Offering a full range of branding and design services, I worked with a wide variety of clients in the Architecture, Interior Design, Organic Food, Entertainment, Technology, and Retail sectors. I loved the independence of working for myself, but found that I missed the daily interaction with a team of great designers!
Enter Epiphany Marketing.
As the Creative Director at Epiphany Marketing, I am responsible for conceiving and implementing web and print campaigns and branding for the firm's clients. I am very happy to be back in the team environment, collaborating with a group of talented people to offer the highest service to our clients. I love the creative process and find it especially rewarding when the craft of visual communication is seamlessly married to the core values and inspirations of our clients—
Inspiration is contagious.
In my free time, I love to create things with paint, clay, wood, Wacom tablet, or anything else that's on hand. I also love to explore new places with my wife. We are always looking for new restaurants, galleries or tide pools, but you can often find us eating Turkish, dancing at the Belly Up or strolling at Beacon's.
